BIG project

I thought I'd show you why I've been slacking in the blogging world for several months (although I have no excuse for the last month).

I decided to be crazy and make Alyson's blessing dress once I found out we were having a girl. I've been getting into sewing lately and love it. (Jared now regrets getting me my sewing machine the first Christmas we were married and all I used to do was fix his work pants. Ok, not really.) I found a pattern I liked and got it when it was on sale for $1. I have definitely learned a lot, especially since this is the first time I've ever sewn anything from a store bought pattern (told you I was crazy). I'm really glad I did it though and it turned out good. I finished it the Tuesday before Jared blessed her. He blessed her on May 22 so that his brother could be there for it before leaving to Iraq.
Thanks to my mom who bought the material, my mother-in-law who helped a lot with how to make the dress, and Erin, Allison, and Ruth who helped me here in Cedar when I got stuck at a few points.

My brother took some pictures of her in her dress but unfortunately I haven't gotten them yet (hint, hint Kyle:)). Once I get those I'll post one.

Now onto more projects - making some pajamas for Crue, using a skirt I have but don't wear anymore (it has torn too many times in one spot - at the top of a side slit) to make a new skirt with a pattern I have, and a few other things. Along with cleaning our house that is in desperate need of some attention, weeding the flower bed and planting some plants/flowers a friend gave me, and who knows what else. Not to mention the usuals such as kids, laundry, cooking, dishes, etc. Anyone figure out how to add time to your day yet? :)
